This is the fourth volume about Walsham le Willows published by the Suffolk Records Society. The volume features a good sereis of manorial accounts and rentals, complementing the excisting court roll material, but painting a more textured picture of life in late-medieval Walsham le Willows. The material provides insights into Walsham agricultural practices such as woodland management, the balance of crops and livestock and the disposal of produce. Other detail includes the role of women in the management of a manorial estate and the consumption of local lords and their harvest workers, as well as some of the local tensions caused by the political issues in 1450.
Edited by the late Audrey McLaughlin, revised with an introduction by Dr Mark Bailey.
