The John Blatchly Local Studies Library Campaign

The John Blatchly Local Studies Library Campaign

The Suffolk Records Society is pleased to be associated with efforts to raise funds to make The Hold, the Suffolk Record Office’s new home on The Waterfront, Ipswich, a fine and comprehensive centre for the study of Suffolk history. In particular, along with other societies which share the common objective of encouraging Suffolk historical studies, we are involved with efforts to create a lasting memorial to our late President, Dr John Blatchly. To continue John’s dedicated work, the Suffolk Record Office is trying to raise £100,000 to build a first-class local studies library, that will include a feature housing John’s collection of books and papers that he bequeathed upon his death in 2015.
